About Tosch Elementary School

Charles A. Tosch was a highly respected citizen of Mesquite, Texas and was well known throughout Dallas County. Mr. Tosch was a native resident of Mesquite who contributed a great deal to the city’s growth, prosperity, and development. He was extremely active Tosch Portraitin Dallas County’s government, holding various prestigious positions such as Deputy Tax Collector, Tax Collector, County Commissioner, First Assistant County Auditor, County Auditor and Chief Budget Officer. He retired after 45 years of faithful and dedicated service. In addition to his government positions, Mr. Tosch was also the vice president and trust officer of the Mercantile National Bank, First National Bank of Mesquite, the president of the Mesquite Savings and Loan Association.

His valued civic involvement included being president of the Mesquite Board of School Trustees, a leader in the First Presbyterian Church, a member of the Dallas Historical Society, and a 32nd degree Mason. He also supported several charitable organizations such as Hope Cottage, Scottish Rite Hospital, Dallas Community Chest, The Red Cross, and United Charities. Charles Tosch was married to Gena Emma Shields and had two sons, Robert and Charles, Jr.  Charles A. Tosch Elementary School is named in honor of Mr. Tosch, and we strive to excel in a school which lives up to his outstanding example of citizenship, education, and dedication.

Students at Tosch Elementary school are able to participate in a variety of clubs that promote education and citizenship. Some of the clubs that are available are Chess Club, National Elementary Honor Society, Boys Club, Coding Club, Honor Choir, Visual Arts Team, Art Club, and Anime Club. We continue to search for opportunities for our students to learn and grow in and out of the classroom.
